Whether it is on a stage or in writing, I strongly believe that stories have value. Stories allow us to connect with one another, understand the experiences of another, and at times simply be entertained. This perspective informs my academic and creative identity.

I exist at the intersection of multiple identities that at times cause tension with one another and this informs how I engage all of my work. As a Queer, Ghanaian-American, and Black man who was raised in the American South, I often find myself with unique perspectives on issues of social justice and intersectionality. My research interests include the writings of queer people who are marginalized due to multiple parts of their identity and those who resist gender boundaries in a variety of cultural contexts. Additionally, I am deeply interested in the memoirs of men who are Black and Queer.

I received my undergraduate degree from Morehouse College and masters from Clark Atlanta University. Currently, I am a PhD candidate in Literature & Criticism at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I currently serve as a Limited-Term English Instructor at Kennesaw State University and Adjunct English Instructor at Morehouse College.
